Nordic Skiing

A close contact with nature

The Hotel Foresta is located right in front of a wonderful cross-country track leading from Moena to Canazei, or, in the other direction, up to Cavalese.
Skiing is not only on the high peaks of the Dolomites, it is also in the valley, among woods and white snowfields.
The cross country track of which we speak is best known as "Marcialonga". Perhaps, with a little training, you could be one of the thousands of athletes who, on the last Sunday in January, meet in Moena to take part in the legendary "Marcialonga", the queen of the narrow skis. It is the only "gran fondo" (great cross-country) race in the Alps to have become as famous as the Swedish Vasaloppet. 70 km of uphill and downhill, starting from Moena and finishing in Cavalese, turning the buoy at Canazei and passing all the towns in the valleys of Fassa and Fiemme.

You just have to prepare your skis and go directly in front of the hotel for a wonderful ski trip in the nature.
At a higher altitude, between 1.900 and 2.000 metres is the Alochet XC Centre, Passo San Pellegrino, an ideal place for the practice of skiing at high altitude, for a total of 18 km of slopes.

An infinite number of routes wind along the bottom of the valley; two are practicable also in the evening, thanks to modern illumination systems: the Ciancoal circuit in Pozza di Fassa, particularly enjoyable because of its frequent changes in rhythm, and that of Fontanazzo for spending a little time relaxing in the moonlight. Snow is guaranteed here from December to April.

In Val di Fiemme, you can reach in 40 minutes by car Lavazè Pass where there is the widest center of the area: over 50km of trails that meet the needs of every skier.

Finally in Lake Tesero awaits the center of the XC skiing, the theater of the Ski World Championships in 2013.
